Use of Personal Information

TREIT only collects personal information from third parties which is necessary for the conduct of its business and personal information is only used for the purpose for which it is collected.

1.   General Inquiries

During your visit to our website, you may choose to contact us by email.  Any personal information which you choose to submit by email will be used by Shelter Canadian to respond to your inquiry.  If you are concerned about the security of submitting personal information over the internet, you may wish to submit personal information by regular mail, facsimile or telephone.

2.   Investor Services

Personal information is collected from investors by TREIT or by a third party service provider, such as a sales or transfer agent, for processing, administration and record keeping purposes and to enable TREIT to comply with all applicable law or regulatory requirements.

Security of Your Information

Access to personal information that has been received by TREIT in the course of conducting its business is limited to the trustees of TREIT, the employees of the management company, Shelter Canadian Properties Limited, who require the information to perform their duties, and to those otherwise authorized by law.  All employees of Shelter Canadian Properties Limited are required to abide by its privacy policy, which may be viewed at www.scpl.com.  Personal information is also protected from unwarranted intrusion through the use of physical and/or electronic safeguards.

Personal information is retained only for the time that it is required for the identified purposes, or as required by law.  Personal information that is no longer required is destroyed.

Sharing Information with Other Parties

Where another organization performs a service for TREIT, we will disclose the portion of your personal information that the organization requires in order to perform the service. 

TREIT does not share your personal information with other parties without your consent, unless it is required in response to a search warrant or other legal enquiry or order or to assist TREIT in meeting legal or regulatory requirements.

Access to Information

Subject to providing satisfactory identification, you may access any personal information that TREIT has collected about you.  Requests should be submitted, in writing, to TREIT and we will reply within 30 days of receipt of your request.  You may verify the accuracy and completeness of your information and may request that it be amended.  Questions with respect to the privacy of personal information may also be directed to TREIT at the following address:
